The surge of Germany’s capital as a cultural hotspot and hotel stronghold as well as its geographic position with short distances to the German states in the North and East, were some of the reasons for opening our second German office in 2005. This step proved to be successful as illustrated by the multitude of successful transactions closed through our Berlin office.
Since opening, the Berlin team has facilitated a large number of transactions, both on behalf of individual hotel owners as well as institutional investors and funds, including major single asset and portfolio deals – often on an international scale. We also frequently advise domestic banks and lenders of their exposure in Germany. Major transactions brokered by the Berlin office include:
- Sale of the 4-star Holiday Inn and Indigo hotels at Berlin’s Alexanderplatz to the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG)
- Sale of the lease of design boutique Hotel Klee Berlin to exe Hotels, Spanish Hotusa Group’s business hotel brand
- Sale of the operation of 4-star hotel D.O.M.I.C.I.L.
